Job Description

The incumbent of this position is responsible for: For handling all incoming phone calls to the program, returning calls, reminder calls, and directing clients to appropriate staff.  Performing and completing other office duties assigned.

SUPERVISION: Works under the direct supervision of the WIC Coordinator, and under the general supervision of the WIC Nutrition Manager.

Exercised: None.

RATE: $16.10

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Answer incoming calls, support caller, connect caller to appropriate person/program as needed.
  • Answer a variety of inquiries and assist clients as needed.
  • Complete reminder phone calls for WIC and CSFP and others as assigned.
  • Support appointment scheduling for assigned programs and other paperwork
  • Familiarity with assigned programs, rules, and eligibility.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to travel when needed.
  • Will maintain professional boundaries with all current, past, and prospective clients, and maintain the confidentiality of clients and staff, in accordance with SNHS policy and procedure.
  • Abide by all SNHS Safety policies and procedures.
  • Present professional and positive image as a representative of SNHS.
  • Responsible for having adequate knowledge of all SNHS programs and will gather sufficient intake information to make referrals to other SNHS programs which are beneficial to the client and his/her family.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

  • Ability to communicate verbally with others effectively.
  • Ability to communicate in writing with others, specifically via email.
  • Ability to understand and to follow written instructions.
  • Ability to prepare basic reports.
  • Basic computer skills required to include data base, email communication, and internet access.
  • The ability to work well with others in a cooperative and respectful manner; ability to comply with schedule and job responsibilities; ability to work as a member of a team or independently.
